RF Pulse Compressors systems for CTF3



The RF pulse compression will be used in CTF3 to provide the required accelerating gradient. The flat top of the RF pulse is strongly required to minimise the energy spread within beam train. In this paper we discuss the methods of the RF amplitude modulation in a system like "klystron + RF cavity pulse compressor". Additionally the design of the new 3 GHz RF pulse compressor based on the Barrel cavity operating in a travelling wave regime will be presented.
